- Earwax is not really wax. It is primarily made up of skin cells, fatty acids, alcohols, cholesterol and squalene (skins natural oils) which continuously renew themselves within the Ear Canal. As dead skin cells drop off, they are pulled into the ear to produce earwax.

- Its role is to protect the skin inside the ear canal. The wax in your ears are made by glands in the skin of your outer ear canal. The wax and tiny hairs in these passages trap dust and other materials that could damage deeper parts of the ear, such as your eardrum.
